Submissions are now open for the Queer Heritage and Collection Symposium 2026.

The symposium aims to explore the innovative and meaningful queer programming being developed by museums and heritage organisations across the UK and internationally. It will include presentations from open submissions, invited keynote speakers and performances.

This year’s symposium will take place over two days, with Day 1 held online and Day 2 hosted at the University of Leicester, delivered in a hybrid format.

The symposium explores innovative, experimental and emerging approaches to researching and publicly presenting queer histories, lives and communities.

Submission deadline: 14 August 2026
